LOL! Digong is so f**king shrewd. China & US slug it out & the PH is the audience

I couldn't stop grinning and shaking my head at Duterte's latest antics and I bet the Americans and Chinese hate him but surely respect him for this.

Why am I laughing?  Because Duterte will get the best of both worlds.

Here are some facts:

  • China is there to stay at the West Philippine Sea and they are going nowhere.  One thing people should understand about Chinese culture is about losing face. Chinese cannot lose face to its own people or to the international community.
  • The US is stuck in the West Philippine Sea because it has to protect American interest and its allies in the region.
  • Knowing that the US and China can't back out of the situation, Duterte decides that by being neutral, they can slugged it out while we watch.
  • If China invades the Philippines, the US has to come to our rescue.
  • By being non-confrontational with China, Duterte can leverage some benefits from them.
  • The US cannot abandon the Philippines even if they dislike Duterte because the Filipinos are their most loyal ally in this region. Besides, Duterte will cease to become a pain in US butt after six years and that is said with fingers crossed.
So far, I think Duterte's game plan seems to be working out, but we have pray to the high heavens that it turns out the way he planned it.

Duterte no longer wants to join expeditions of patrolling seas

Following pronouncements that he will pursue his own independent foreign policy, President Rodrigo Duterte on Tuesday said he no longer wants to be involved in joint patrols.

In a speech delivered at the 48th anniversary of the 250th Philippine Airlift Wing in Villamor Air Base, Duterte said he only wants to patrol his own territory.

"We will not join any expedition of patrolling the sea. I will not allow it because I don’t want my country to be involved in hostile act. Patrolling kasi, when you patrol not only high seas but somebody else’s territory. Whether it is really owned by us, which the judgement says atin iyan, entitlement sabihin naman ng isa, China. That's besides my point. The point is I dont want to ride gung-ho style there with China or with America," Duterte said.

"I just want to patrol our  territorial waters... We do not go into patrol or join any army because I do not want trouble," he added.

Earlier this year, US Defense Secretary Ash Carter announced that it had started joint patrols with the Philippines in the South China Sea amid a territorial dispute involving China.

Duterte's comments come a week following his attendance at the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Summit, where he lashed out against criticism over his administration's war on drugs. In one meeting, he veered off his prepared speech and instead showed photos of Filipinos killed during the American occupation before an audience that included US President Barack Obama.

On Monday, Duterte said that he wanted American troops out of Mindanao. On Tuesday, however, Palace officials clarified that his comments were not yet official policy.
