Mayor Duterte has received a lot of criticism for what has been known as the rape joke.  What his critics don't mention is that Mayor Duterte is a protector of women.

Good afternoon Atty. I’am an ordinary student and I’am rape victim in Davao City. Despite this, I would like to defend mayor Rody Duterte regarding the issue on his rape joke. Please help me send my message to our fellowmen. This is personal to me, so I would also like to ask you to keep my identity as a secret. Please atty. help me. Gusto ko pong bumawi kay Mayor sa tulong na nagawa niya sakin.

In 2014. I was raped in Davao City. My mother and I went directly to NBI. Inasikaso naman po nila ako agad. Days passed, nagcontinue lang po ang investigation pero wala pa ring lead. Weeks passed, wala pa rin kasi hindi daw po taga Davao ang suspects at mukhang may kaya po talaga sila. Months passed wala pa rin. I was so scared. I was angry. Sobrang galit ako sa sistema ng justice sa Pilipinas. Nakakabaliw. Nagalit po ako kay Duterte so without my parents knowing pumunta ako sa city hall. Sinugod ko si Duterte. I was so mad. I was crying. Nung pag upo ko sa harapan niya. Sinabi ko kaagad na na rape ako, nilabas ko galit ko sa kanya hanggang sa naiyak ako sa galit. He kneeled in front of me and said “I will fight for you.

I looked at him. I can see the grave in his eyes. I felt his sincerity. He continued and said “I will do everything. I will risk my life mahanap lang ang mga gagong gumawa nyan sayo”. That very moment, I found a father in him. I cried alot, this time hindi na galit ang nararamdaman ko but hope.

Btw, my father is an OFW. Wala siya nung nangyari sakin lahat ng ito. All this time, nangungulila lang pala ako. Ito lang pala ang hinahanap ko. Ang assurance ng isang ama. Ang protection ng isang ama. He is more than just a Mayor, he is our father. Duterte gave me hope. He gave us hope. Hindi niya po kami pinabayaan. Hindi pa din po nahuhuli yung mga bumaboy sakin pero mas kampante na po ako dahil alam kong may lalaban para sakin.

Kaya ang payo ko po sa lahat, lalo na sa mga babaeng katulad ko na naging biktima ng rape, wag po tayo magpadala sa isang joke, dahil kung may totoong joke po dito, ito po yung mga politicians na akala mo ipagtatanggol ka yun pala gagamitin ka lang nila para makakuha ng boto. Hindi po ganun si Duterte. Ipinaglaban niya na ko. Ipaglalaban niya rin kayo.
