Umali BETRAYED DUTERTE? Video of Duterte treating Mariz Umali like a friend ~SHARE


Watch video of Duterte in a friendly chat with Duterte but also observe the voice of a woman in the background.  Observe her 'mataray' tone as though she is looking for fault. Whose voice is it?

As you will observe Duterte in this video, Rody treated Mariz Umali like a friend. He even gave her and Rappler's Pia Ranada special access to his life.  So you can imagine Duterte's shock when malice was attributed to his playful whistle (typical teasing manner of Duterte) during the press conference.

Critics call Duterte's action as 'catcalling'. But what exactly is catcalling? Catcalling is defined as making a whistle, shout, or comment of a sexual nature to a woman passing by.

Mariz Umali was not passing by and Duterte was not whistling or making anything of a sexual nature. He was simply complimenting her with a playful banter because Duterte treated her as a friend.  Digong must have felt betrayed.

Watch Mariz Umali smile when Duterte teases her. She knew it was a joke & everyone around her knew it was a joke, so why did she accuse Duterte of being 'bastos'?

I have done this to friends.  In a party for example, when a female friend walks in dressed beautifully I have made sounds like 'wow ang seksi' as she walked into a room. My friend would respond by saying 'syempre ako pa!' It is a playful banter and definitely not meant to demean my friend.

That of course is very different when a girl walking past a bunch of guys who are not her friends and these guys whistle at her. That is harassment.

Unfortunately, dumb people cannot tell the difference because it takes intelligence to differentiate between a playful banter and harassment. This whole incident borders on the stupid.

      Wow! You guys are dumb. The women reporters are just doing their job documenting his activities and they're friends? How naive! And dapat magpasalamat pa sila? Now that he is the president he can take advantage of these women? This power tripping to the highest level. And in addition playing favoritism.     Next conference, an onion skinned Media should not be allowed to enter the room more so with those who can't take jokes coming from the President. There are so many important issues tackled during the conference that should be given more importance rather than personal matters.

      puro kayo speculations. natapalan ng pera? Raffy and Mariz' are peofessional journalists and their integrity unassailable. Raffy's reaction is a natural reaction if he felt na nabastos ang asawa niya. I know them personally and they are one of the most honest journalist there are.

    Hey, Erik Marciano, how can you even compare the president of the Philippines who has the mandate of more than 16 million Filipinos to a kanto boy!!! Duterte was simply admiring the beauty of Mariz. The president was injecting humor to a tense-filled environment, as he always does. Anyway, you are entitled to your own opinion pea-brain!     i like this video. makikita rito na 100% ugaling pilipino ang ipinakita ni duterte sa konting pagsipol kasunod at konting pagkanta bago mag serious ulit sa pagsagot sa tanong. isang ugali ng pilipino na binibiro ng konti ang kapalagayang-loob. dahil sa kakilala na pala ni duterte itong reporter at dahil sa marami ng maisulat na natural na mapagbiro sa reporters si duterte it is expected na dapat alam na ng reporter na si Umali ang klase ng biro ni duterte. it is moronic for this reporter na si Umali not to differentiate the joke sa pambabastos. common sense dictates na kahit ang talagang bastos ay hindi mambabastos sa harap ng maraming tao at sa gitna pa ng press conference. the character of duterte is not perfect but definitely ay walang pambabastos na nangyari. ang may deperensya ay ang personality ng reporter dahil sa nabasa kong narrative niya she wanted na dapat daw ganito at ganoon ang ginagawa sa press conference as if she is a somebody.

    i do not know or have seen these reporter or his husband anywwhere but they are definitely caricatures with somewhat unstable personalities. they are supposed to be reporters at dapat malawak ang common sense nila pero lumabas na makikitid. i cannot see or feel or hear any pambabastos sa video. in fact, sa mga nangyari ay si duterte ang binastos ng dalawang ito. dapat silang humingi ng apology kay duterte sa kabastusan ang pagpakalat nila ng kasiraan ni duterte. that is my intelligent and neutral na opinion.

    What is stupid is trying to rationalise all of the president's actions even when they are blatantly wrong. His comments on the Australian missionary before and now the whistling at Umali show how much respect he has for women. This shows how double standard Philippine society is. I do not make mountains out of mole hills but I would like to expect more from the future leader of our country. Being a woman, I think it is not right, joke or no. I do not think he's a villain but I don't think he should be followed blindly either.

    Wala rin akong nakitang masama sa pagsipol ni tatay digong. wala naman akong nakitang malisya sa pagsipol, nakakalungkot,imbes na batuhin ng mga kababayan natin si tatay digong ng mga issue na nakakadagdag sa isipin nya, bakit di magtulungan para mas mapagaan ang panunungkulan ng ating president.     People have different opinions. My opinion... Mr. President was taken out of context. It's unfair for him. Just because he is in the spotlight, pati siguro pagkukulangot nya pupunahin. He tried to be nice and he tried to answer the questions... He even entertained people by making serious remark in lighter mood. The fact that he is not used to that. Why not just allow him to be himself and understand that he is different. Be objective rather than subjective and sensitive. After all, we all know it his weakness... and it's unfair to trapped him there. He is our president. He needs our support so he can perform his duties.

    nakita ko ang dalawang vid dito, ang mga tanong, reaksyon at mga sagot. in my honest opinion the lady journalist betrayed Duterte. why? look at the vid inside the car, everything is natural about Duterte answering the questions of the lady. he tells everything about him when questioned. palagay si duterte sa kanya and that would only mean he trust her and considers her a friend. and she betrayed him.....

    What i really dont understand is.. kung Bastos or may pagka"maniac" ang incoming president Duterte.. bakit nung silang apat lang (Driver,the Rappler lady?Mariz,Maybe the cameraman and Mayor Digong who accomodate them for an interview while touring the city)e buong pusong sinagot lahat ang tanong galing sa mga reporters na to.Wala nmang kamalimalisya ang kilos nya... ni hindi nga lumilingon sa kanila si Mayor... basta sagot lang sya.. dun palang makikita mo na kung anong klaseng tao ang kausap mo.. and its all documented.. ano yun?mas gusto pa pala nyang sa harap ng madaming tao nya ipakita na isa syang Gigolo? haha!! I dont get it... maybe somebody will call me "slow" or "bobo"? O di ikaw na "Smart"!! hahaha!!

    And now this is the problem: manila is complex. What you can do in Mindanao as a simple back of the woods man, you can't quite do in manila. And you want to conquer manila? It isn't easy. And Duterte may not have what it takes.

I hate motherhood environmental statements made by leftist environmentalists like Duterte on issues like mining. He is a lawyer and he doesn't know anything about mining or planning. Kaya STUPIDLY he DUTERTE is anti-mining. HYPOCRITE!

    just a point, sabi sa interview ni Pres. Duterte that his jokes are sometimes rude or bordering ridiculous. So, sinasabi na niya sa 2 lady reporter in the car about his attitude. Pres. assumed that if he would make a joke on his future interviews, they would understand as they have been told before hand.

    Yun na nga, he made a joke intended to flatter or compliment tapos di nila na gets. They should have known they have been with the Pres. close hand. Pareho pa silang nag react, si Mariz and Pia in a separate interview.

    If you are a journalist, you should have up your game and have been smart enough to understand.
