Netizen J. Marnelli was asked if she regrets voting for Duterte. Her answer is unforgettable. Share

Netizen Jean Marnelli was asked if she regrets voting for Duterte and her answer is unforgettable.

From Jean Marnelli's post:

I was asked if I am experiencing buyer's remorse, having voted for such an uncouth president.

Fine. I am embarrassed.
Because it had to take this crass and ill-mannered man for me to finally see:
  1. The jobless and maltreated OFWs stranded in the UAE finally coming home. News broke out on this as early as 2009. There are 9000 of them. First batch flew in August this year.

  2. A one-stop-shop established for the OFWs and the ending of Tanim-Bala.

  3. A government branch that finally implemented the FOI.

  4. A crackdown on mining malpractices with 4 mines suspended to date and more coming as the government has just completed its audit.

  5. Centralized and nationwide Emergency Response Team (911) and Citizen Complaint Hotline (8888)

  6. The gates of the DAR opened after being shut for more than a decade.

  7. A signed indefinite ceasefire agreement.

  8. An actual war against drugs. Say what you want about it but for every politician that said they were fighting it, this is the first time I can actually see it happening.

  9. An increase in the allowance of Filipino athletes representing us in the Olympics.

  10. A president that has command responsibility and is willing to take the hit for his men which is driving increased morale in our police and military forces. Remember the lack of ownership during SAF44 and the HK Tourist Bus Hostage Crisis?

  11.  A president who is arrogant enough to lead this small archipelago like it was the best country in the world and stand up to the powers that be. If you've travelled outside, you'd know that the Philippine Passport is an almost powerless passport. I do not know where he gets his nerve. I think in his heart and mind, he really believes this is the best country in the world. That's crazy. We all know we're not.

You know what's most annoying? His potty-mouthed presidency is just 69 days old.

Now, being a well-mannered big fan of perception management and word choice, I am now asking myself--

What did I actually DO for my country in the last 69 days aside from grudgingly pay taxes and post commentaries like this on FB?

Nothing.

Damn you, Duterte. Why can't you just be lip service like everyone else?

Embarrassing.

You do know war is a bad thing? Why do you think that your president declaring war on the weakest and most abject members of your society is a good thing? Is that the sign of a strong and compassionate president?
No 10.A president that has command responsibility and is willing to take the hit for his men...
Duterte said he would give a medal to any member of the police force who killed a drug user, but the government subsequently said that any member of the force who killed without reason would face the full rigour of the law, so he says he has their back but he doesn't. You can't believe a word this self-serving-prick says.

26. (my thoughts after reading the article) as the Phoenix arising from the ashes of its predecessor, so now rise a strong Philippine President. President Duterte brought about badly needed change for our country. He is not traditional in more ways than one. Some in the world do not understand him. They don't know how to deal with him. I do understand him completely. Feeling his heartfelt pure intentions the poor long aggrieved Filipinos understands him. He stands strong for all of us, even to the expense of himself. Calculated Machiavellian cunning duplicity within the realm of street savvy response is his quick answer. I can relate to it completely, even thinking that it is a brilliant gambit. The Filipino Nation is now at a crossroad, standing proud and tall in the world stage. We may not have the military capability but let it not be said that we do not have the will. The patriotic fervor is now raging in our hearts. It burns brightly ready to defend against all enemies, in the name of national progress. A strong leadership under President Duterte to save the Filipino Nation's future generations is enough for me to follow him to the gates of hell.

  44. Which one first? Good or bad?
Bad first... Filipino attitude was overwhelming hypocrisy inherited from those arrogant Spaniards centuries ago or let say (the normal bad side of human being) unfortunately very contagious and very resistant, only Devine intervention can fix it. If we are smart or at least have knowledge and understanding we don't put down someone that who might be carried away of their feelings, if we can stop that kind of attitude and start lifting up each other instead of laughing and insulting someone who misunderstood the message, much better!, because putting someone down doesn't make us better either instead we put ourselves lower than them in the essence of life in humanity. That makes all things worst and vulnerability of individual to be easy to destroy by any means for the Devils benifits. Ever since this problem was keep going on and on then we dare to ask WHY? or blame someone for it is easy and make ourselves feel better but not for long for our conscience know better, that is why we won't feel contented at all.

Good: At least most of us here have the same goal, for a better country, to support the President, seeking for the truth, and looking forward for the better future.

Question: Like the message of this article... What did you/we do? Did you/we do your/our part aside from bashing others, insulting others, praising to those who take action and sacrificed their very own life. Was that enough?

    NO!!!

YOU/WE must eliminate our hypocrisy! We start lifting each other, we take action to keep calm our overwhelming emotion and control ourselves to throw insult to others specially those on our side. Those who make mistake or misunderstood we correct them in a nice way. We must unite to reveal the truth which was hidden or twisted by the enemy through those evil media. We must show a good heart by helping and lifting each other together.Stop the I'll minded that you/I is better than the others. Do the good action, choose the right decision without expecting for a reward on the process for the reward was bigger at the end of this battle. We won't just wait the President and few good government leaders to do and solve all this huge problem for us, instead even in small part we do ours through sharing information/knowledge , helping others, obedience to the law, showing love to the enemy but don't get fool, sincerity to all our words and action with compassion, most of all to be strong to stand our ground to what we believe in. And by the power and mercy of God we all achieve our goal.

@ Ms. Haley stay strong, forgiveness is the best medicine of broken heart/pride. Thank you for loving our country, keep it up! Support the President!
@Miss J.Marnille Thank you for your brilliant thoughts.
@ The author of this article Thank you for sharing this with us. It's wonderful one. Hope many Filipinos will read this and open their mind.

  51. It is the progressive sector that has been doing the most important work in exposing what is not being done appropriately and in keeping the Filipino people aware to be solid in their unity over many decades, not just the action of a top government leader over two months. The Filipino people are the ones who have been asserting that there must be real change. It is appreciated that the President has better listening ears, we hope for that.
